SHI offers next-generation Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) to help customers
accelerate to the cloud in the fastest, most secure, reliable and cost-effective
ways possible.

Because SHI’s Cloud Virtual Machines (VMs) reside within your network, the
security of the environment is never compromised.
SHI Cloud Solutions use the latest in data encryption, intrusion protection, breach
monitoring and audit reporting technologies to meet the most stringent IT security
requirements.

The “heart” of the SHI Cloud architecture is the
vCore, a design of servers, storage and networking equipment that
serves one purpose: to run virtual machines. The vCore is powered by leading hardware
and software technologies for maximum bandwidth, storage and performance.
The “brains” of the SHI Cloud is the
Cloud Management Platform (CMP)*, which provisions virtual machines
“on-demand” by using a managed, fully-automated platform. Together,
the vCore and
CMP create the high-performance
engine that drives SHI’s Cloud Solutions.

The world-class technologists of SHI Labs and our partners have worked to incorporate
the best available technologies to produce
Industrial Grade Cloud Solutions. The result is a secure design featuring
the optimal capacity, performance and reliability necessary to handle the requirements
of enterprise class applications.

SHI offers three IaaS solutions to meet a wide variety of customer needs:
- Managed Private Cloud
runs VMs on an SHI Cloud vCore (a pre-configured appliance with the starter vCore100
capable of generating 100+ VMs) within the client’s data center while being
managed remotely by the SHI Cloud Center. The entire capability is provided as a
subscription service without the need for major capital expenditures.
- Private or Dedicated Cloud
runs VMs within SHI’s Cloud Center on hardware dedicated to a specific customer
with capacity needs of thousands of VMs. This solution aligns well for the enterprise
that has large capacity requirements and may need to scale capacity quickly due
to business expansion initiatives, mergers and acquisitions.
- Multi-Tenant Cloud runs
VMs on hardware shared by multiple customers within SHI’s Cloud Center. It
is a perfect solution for customers with capacity needs for a few hundred VMs. The
cost-savings benefit of shared hardware makes this an attractive option even for
the large enterprise in terms of non mission-critical workloads like applications
development and training systems.

Self-Service
Customers can access the SHI Cloud Center through a self-service portal using either
SHI’s templates or templates they provide. Authorized users have the ability
to configure virtual machines (CPU, memory, storage and bandwidth), as well as select
from a wide variety of software applications by accessing a Service Catalog.
Time-Boxed Burst Computing
To address the needs associated with seasonal capacity spikes, the SHI Cloud Center
offers the ability to quickly handle these capacity fluctuations without incurring
large capital expenditures. The SHI Cloud Center loads virtual machine “gold
images” (customer-provided in advance) and installs the VMs on the customer’s
network at the appointed time.
Disaster Recovery
For customers that have their own cloud on virtualized infrastructure, the SHI Cloud
Center provides an innovative approach to disaster recovery. The SHI Cloud Center
loads the customer’s virtual machine “gold images” and installs
the VMs on the customer’s network in the event of a disaster.
