The “heart” of the SHI Cloud architecture is the
vCore, a design of servers, storage and networking equipment that
serves one purpose: to run virtual machines. The vCore is powered by leading hardware
and software technologies for maximum bandwidth, storage and performance.
The “brains” of the SHI Cloud is the
Cloud Management Platform (CMP)*, which provisions virtual machines
“on-demand” by using a managed, fully-automated platform. Together,
the vCoreand
CMP create the high-performance engine that drives SHI’s Cloud
Solutions.

the best available technologies to produce
Industrial Grade Cloud Solutions. The result is a secure design featuring
the optimal capacity, performance and reliability necessary to handle the requirements
of enterprise class applications.
SHI offers three IaaS solutions to meet a wide variety of customer needs:
- Multi-Tenant Cloud runs
VMs on hardware shared by multiple customers (with capacity needs for a few hundred
VMs) within SHI’s Cloud Center. The cost-savings benefit of shared hardware
makes this an attractive option for non mission-critical applications.
- Private or Dedicated Cloud
runs VMs within SHI’s Cloud Center on hardware dedicated to a specific customer
with capacity needs of thousands of VMs.
- Managed Private Cloud
runs VMs on an SHI Cloud vCore within the client’s data center while being
remotely managed by the SHI Cloud Center. The entire capability is provided as a
subscription service with no need for major capital expenditures.
