Multi-Tenant vCores run VMs on hardware shared by multiple customers within SHI’s
Cloud Center. It is a perfect solution for customers with capacity needs for a few
hundred VMs. The cost-savings benefit of shared hardware makes this an attractive
option for non mission-critical applications.
The SHI Multi-Tenant or “Shared” Cloud is based on the same design as
the SHI Private or “Dedicated” Cloud in terms of security, performance
and resiliency. This approach leverages the benefits of SHI’s largest vCore
Platform without needing its full capacity (2,000+ VMs).
Delivering Infrastructure as a Service for the Enterprise
Designed by SHI Labs, the SHI Cloud Center is a secure, state-of-the-art data center
that seamlessly integrates best of breed IT to offer industrial-grade “Cloud
Infrastructure On-Demand”.
Self-Service
Customers can access the SHI Cloud Center through a self-service portal using either
SHI’s templates or templates they provide. Authorized users have the ability
to configure virtual machines (CPU, memory, storage and bandwidth), as well as select
from a wide variety of software applications by accessing a Service Catalog.
Time-Boxed Burst Computing
To address the needs associated with seasonal capacity spikes, the SHI Cloud Center
offers the ability to quickly handle these capacity fluctuations without incurring
large capital expenditures. The SHI Cloud Center loads virtual machine “gold
images” (customer-provided in advance) and installs the VMs on the customer’s
network at the appointed time.
Disaster Recovery
For customers that have their own cloud on virtualized infrastructure, the SHI Cloud
Center provides an innovative approach to disaster recovery. The SHI Cloud Center
loads the customer’s virtual machine “gold images” and installs
the VMs on the customer’s network in the event of a disaster.
License Mobility Through Microsoft Software Assurance
SHI is a Microsoft Authorized Mobility Partner. With License Mobility through Software Assurance, you can deploy certain server application licenses (must have active Software Assurance) purchased under your Volume Licensing agreement in our secure SHI Cloud data center to lower your operating costs.
