Offering industrial grade vCores to customers on a subscription basis, SHI’s
Managed Private Cloud is the fastest, most cost-effective method of accelerating
to the cloud. Managed Private Cloud combines an on-site, appliance-based approach
with remote management that overcomes the challenges some face in cloud adoption.
For some customers, certain government regulations and associated risk management
policies require enterprise data to remain on-premise within an organization’s
IT firewall. For those IT departments, implementing a private cloud within their
own data center is the only “compliant” approach to cloud computing.
However, rolling out a “commercial-grade” platform in-house that utilizes
all the components of a service provider could be cost prohibitive - especially
in terms of the software required for on-demand service.
For customers who must have their cloud hardware reside within their own data center,
SHI’s Managed Private Cloud come turnkey-ready with what they need to get
started in the cloud:
vCore: Cloud Infrastructure Platform
CMP: Cloud Management & Automation
SHI vCore design
Available as a subscription service, SHI offers several different “starter”
configurations of its vCore, sized to fit the number of VMs a customer may need
(factoring in their potential growth rate). These preconfigured appliances - deployed
in the customer data center - are remotely managed and supported by SHI Labs’
CMP*.
Managed Private vCores come in two “starter” configuration appliance
sizes and complement SHI’s largest vCore, the vCore 2000:
vCore 100: Capable of running up to 100 VMs
vCore 400: Capable of running up to 400 VMs
By providing the flexibility of a commercial-grade cloud platform with usage-based
pricing and scalable VM capacity, this Managed Private Cloud approach offers easy
acceleration to the cloud with minimal initial investment.
